Disaster Recovery Planning and Federal Information Systems Management Act Requirements
Mr. Bower will discuss Disaster Recovery Planning and how to approach developing and analyzing a business continuity plan’s information technology requirements. From assessment to planning to implementation, there are many areas to consider and he will provide a framework to help you begin your approach. Mr. Bower will also be reviewing FISMA (Federal Information Systems Management Act), what it entails and what that means for organizations that need to comply.
SPEAKER PROFILES:
Mr. Bower joined McKonly & Asbury in 2004 and became a Manager in 2006. He most recently worked for a large publicly-traded information systems contractor, supervising and managing a team in support of an enterprise network for a Commonwealth agency. He provides information systems consulting services to clients in areas such as information systems best practices, internal controls review and testing, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and forensic accounting.
Mr. Bower holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh,
as well as Master’s degree in Information Systems (MIS) from the
Pennsylvania State University. He also holds the certification of
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

If you come from the Parkway North or South, take 695 West to Towson, Take Exit 8, Nursery Rd, (one exit from Parkway), Bear right at end of exit, go under 695, turn right onto N. Hammonds Ferry Rd. Snyder’s 2 blocks on right.
