PRESENTATION:
Wireless networking has become enormously popular over the past few years
with access points available in most corporate offices, not to mention
homes, airports and coffeehouses. Gains in productivity can be achieved by
severing the “chains” that connect your workforce to the walls of their
offices and cubicles, creating a more collaborative work environment. The
wireless access point, however, creates new entryways into the corporate
network which can expose you to a myriad of new threats placing your
organization’s assets and data at risk. These new challenges demand that
IT auditors be prepared to conduct regular reviews of your wireless
networks to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate potential risks.
In this session, we’ll provide an overview of wireless networking
technologies and configurations, along with common vulnerabilities and
pitfalls. Our discussion will focus on steps for auditing your wireless
network and tools which can be used to facilitate your review.
