Discussion: Many security experts believe that employee username and passwords are passé and on the way out. Is that true? If so, what is the alternative? This session discusses the different aspects of using strong authentication for internal users to systems and applications. It examines the technologies available, the benefits/challenges of deploying these technologies, where it's been successful, where it hasn't, the barriers of deployment, and what we can do about it. for the enterprise Speaker Profile: Chris Kostick is an Executive Director in Ernst & Young's Information Security Risk Advisory Services practice and is the lead security specialist in the areas of network and wireless security, cryptographic services, key management, and security information and event management within Ernst & Young's Information Technology Enablement Center in Baltimore, MD. Currently Mr. Kostick functions as the practice coordinator for the delivery and management of client cryptographic related services. He has over 19 years of experience in the information security field starting his security career at NSA in telecommunications and operating system security, and 22 years of experience in information technology. Mr. Kostick has also taught graduate level courses on the topics of TCP/IP Networking and Network Security at Johns Hopkins University for a number of years. He has a Masters of Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelors of Mathematics from Marshall University, and is a CISSP.
